Randy Gerson was born in New York and raised in New Jersey. The product of a loving marriage eventually turned sour, the arts were his escape from many unsavory realities. Books, movies, video games, and music all provided outlets for growth in a life below the poverty line. He vowed that despite coming from minimal means, he would not let it define him, and would show the world that someone coming from very little could escape the binds that held them.
A diligent student, he worked hard to excel, all the while seeking out the novelty of life and all the various experiences available to explore. A member of multiple clubs, including enrichment programs, the chess club, computer clubs, bands, and his church choir, his interests always varied, but one aspect wove its way through all of them. A single thread linked his life into a cohesive quilt.
Art.
From his earliest memories laying on his stomach on the living room floor, drawing comic book characters on lined notebook pages, Randy made art. He sculpted figures in clay and spent his weekends building worlds with deep lore using lego sets and action figures. Paint coated his clothes and dioramas filled his shelves.
And then he gained access to a computer.
Using a keyboard and mouse and countless hours following tutorials, he taught himself the basics of 2d animation and action scripting. This lead him down a path of designing his first platformers using visual scripting and sprites which eventually lead him down the path of attending art college with a focus on game art and design.
And so began the next, chapter of his life, the point where it all started to come together, the journey into becoming a 3d artist.
